BIM TRAINING FOR TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

BaezeniSoft delivers BIM process training for transport infrastructure projects to consultancies, project owners and construction management agencies. We are one of the leading organisations in researching and advising on BIM solutions for transport infrastructure projects, with more than 10 years of experience in the field and a training team with many years on BIM projects both in Vietnam and abroad. BaezeniSoft is also an official training partner of buildingSMART International for openBIM.

BIM ADOPTION ROADMAP UNDER DECISION 258/QD-TTg

Under the Prime Minister's Decision 258/QD-TTg of 17 March 2023, from 2025 Building Information Modeling (BIM) becomes mandatory for:

- Grade II and higher works within new construction investment projects.

- Projects funded by public investment capital or by State capital outside public investment.

- Public-private partnership (PPP) projects beginning project preparation work.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The course equips organisations with the knowledge and skills in BIM processes needed to apply BIM to their future projects and works.

Establish workflows for organising and sharing project data to BIM standards across the company's departments and teams

Ongoing research support and advice on real project delivery throughout the training

A certificate of course completion is issued (an international BIM certificate may also be obtained).

PARTNERS

Since 2020 BaezeniSoft has worked with many consultancies in Vietnam and abroad to provide BIM training and solution consultancy for transport infrastructure projects. Notable partners include Hanoi Transport Consulting Company (CTEC), Deo Ca Group, the Thanh Hoa Institute of Planning and Architecture, Sao Khue Consulting, Vietnam Expressway Consulting Company (VECC) and many others.

BIM SOLUTION TRAINING COURSE CONTENT

Detailed training content of the ADSCivil BIM course

OVERVIEW OF THE BIM PROCESS UNDER ISO 19650

BIM fundamentals: An overview of BIM, the definition of BIM, the ISO 19650 standard, key BIM terminology, openBIM and what BIM makes possible for the construction industry. Participants become familiar with the basic concepts, collaboration models and BIM use cases, and gain a clear understanding of the standards and documents to be complied with.

Managing BIM project information to ISO 19650: Organising and managing information on a BIM project in a structured, purposeful way, establishing a solid foundation for project planning and coordination.

National BIM standards: Participants are introduced to the BIM standards applied in Australia and New Zealand and to Vietnam's BIM guidance, giving them a clearer picture of BIM adoption trends and standards country by country.

THE ADSCIVIL CDE COMMON DATA ENVIRONMENT

ADSCivil CDE common data environment: Hands-on practice with the ISO 19650 information management process in a common data environment, so that participants understand the roles of the parties involved, the flow of information exchanged within the CDE, and the process for creating, managing and sharing project data.

3D MODELING REVIT & AUTOCAD 3D

3D modelling solutions: Using Revit and AutoCAD 3D to model bridges, culverts, transport works and technical infrastructure.

An introduction to Revit and AutoCAD 3D and their use in modelling works, together with a firm grasp of the process for building accurate 3D models of infrastructure

Detailed manhole modelling of the component elements, and production of manhole detail drawings

Modelling of bridge superstructure and substructure, and reinforcement layout

Modelling of the various types of cross culvert....

EXPORTING TO IFC

Exporting to the open IFC format under the international ISO standard, exchanging information models between platforms, federating component models, coordinating between disciplines, producing shop drawings and managing the model.

APPLYING THE ADSCIVIL SOLUTION SUITE TO INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN

Transfer of the ADSCivil design solution suite covering topographic survey, basic design, detailed design, construction design and as-built drawings, across all design items including:

  • Expressway design module
  • New road and road upgrade/rehabilitation design module
  • Urban road design module
  • At-grade junction, grade-separated interchange and roundabout design module
  • Traffic management design module: road markings, signs and safety barriers
  • Drainage network design module.
  • Site grading design module

FEDERATING COMPONENT MODELS

Federating component models:Once each discipline has completed its own 3D design model, the separate models are federated into the overall project model, making it easier to manage the design disciplines together.

DESIGN CHECKING & INTER-DISCIPLINE CLASH DETECTION

Once the model is federated, clashes between disciplines are analysed and checked automatically (stormwater versus foul drainage, utility trenches, power supply systems and so on).

Clash reports are generated automatically  with the clash location, coordinates and level, so the position can be identified on the drawing and a resolution agreed

Design errors are checked directly on the model and issues are raised to notify the relevant disciplines so corrections can be made promptly

INTEGRATING BUILDING INFORMATION INTO THE MODEL

Assigning model information: Completing the building information model, with geometric and non-geometric information attached to the design objects in the project.

.

SYNCHRONISING THE PROJECT WITH GIS

Synchronising the project model with GIS shows the information and the location of the works on GIS terrain, making it possible to view and analyse the terrain and the project's extent when preparing planning reports, developing options and designing.

APPLYING BIM ON A REAL PROJECT

The first BIM project in Hanoi: the 42 m arterial road project, a special-grade scheme required to apply the BIM process, with Hanoi Transport Construction Consulting Company as contractor and BaezeniSoft acting as the collaborating BIM consultant
